Published for the Florence Press, first edition with these illustrations, limited to 500 numbered coies (No.92) pp vii, 103, i, with 20 coloured and mounted plates, 10 of which are by Keith Henderson and 10 by Norman Wilkinson of Four Oaks. Original cloth-backed boards with printed paper labels. Norman Wilkinson (1882-1934) adopted the suffix 'of Four Oaks' to distinguish himself from the marine artist of the same name. His work is 'meticulous in execution with echoes of 'fin-de-siecle symbolism'. Keith Henderson (b1883) shared a Paris studio with Wilkinson, his early work consisted mainly of portraits. 'He was a painter and muralist, pastel draughtsman and illustrator in pen and ink, pencil and watercolour, and scraperboard'... Peppin & Micklethwait.
